Green Waste Disposal
Council's Waste Facilities are only open for essential purposes such as for businesses and people who don't have a kerbside collection. Please utilise your green organics bin for green waste and avoid attending Council's Waste Facilities during the current pandemic.
Green waste, which includes tree limbs up to 150mm in diameter, tree prunings, clippings and grass cuttings, is accepted at all Council waste facilities for a minimal fee. Tree stumps are only accepted at the Grantville Transfer Station.
Weed species such as agapanthus, blackberry, mirror bush and those identified in the Common Weeds of Gippsland Brochure cannot be accepted as green waste at our transfer stations and additional disposal fees will apply. Hard-to-mulch items, such as palm fronds and yukkas will also need to be separated and additional fees will be charged. Weeds and hard to mulch items can be disposed of into your kerbside Organics (green-lid) bin.
Fee-Free Green Waste Disposal Period
November 2020 (dates to be confirmed)
We provide this service each year to encourage residents to prepare for the fire season. You can dispose of green waste at our waste facilities for no charge during this period. Weed species and species that cannot physically be mulched (such as palm fronds) are not accepted and fees will apply.
