Wonthaggi - Wall Murals - COMPLETED
Bass Coast Shire wishes to advise that the street art works at 33 Murray St. Wonthaggi (Connell’s Bakery wall in IGA car park) are now complete. You will find an image below of the completed mural. Next time you’re in Wonthaggi make sure you check it out!
The Street Art scheme is a series of one-off mural projects across the Shire devised to enliven urban areas of towns and encourage discussion and community involvement over what street art is and how it can serve the community. Local and visiting artists are being commissioned via a number of models to bring their vision to the walls of Bass Coast.
Jimmy Dvate is a world renowned Melbourne-based artist who specialises in Australian native fauna. He will be depicting two birds often seen in the heathlands and wetlands surrounding Wonthaggi. Last week, Ash Keating painted a mural on the wall of Seaside Fish & Chips in Grantville in a spontaneous display of abstract ‘fire-extinguisher’ art.
