Wonthaggi - Apex Park Playspace

Bass Coast Shire has engaged contractors Landstruct Landscape Constructions Pty Ltd to undertake a design and construction of a new playspace to be located within Apex Park on Murray Street, Wonthaggi. This project is part of the ongoing development of the Wonthaggi Activity Centre Plan (WACP) project as part of Council’s adopted 2019/20 Capital Works program in the order of $80,000. Please find attached map of the proposed site for the playspace.

The unique playspace will draw upon the historical significance of the train station at Apex Park. It is anticipated the design work to be completed early May and will follow by the construction of the new playspace to be completed in mid to late July 2020, subject to contractor availability and weather permitting.

We appreciate that these construction works may present an inconvenience to you all. We ask for your patience during these works. Our contractor will make every effort to minimise the disruptions to park and rail trail users and nearby businesses that operate near Apex Park, while implementing appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures.

Our community, local residents, schools, businesses and other stakeholders will be kept up-to-date with the project via website updates. For information or assistance during this project, please contact:
