Cape Paterson First Surf Beach Access Stairs - Remedial Works

Council wishes to advise that remedial works at the First Surf Beach Access stairs at Cape Paterson will be scheduled to start in early December and be completed within 2 weeks, subject to contractor availability and weather permitting. These works are associated with the significant storm event in May this year.

The works will involve underpinning of the undermined bored piers and stabilising the eroded embankment. The works will be undertaken by Roger Bailey & Associates Pty Ltd. The total cost of these works is in the order of $60,000. During this time beach access will be restricted to the ramp further up the beach. There may also be restrictions from the carpark to this area because of large vehicles and plant operating in this area. Appropriate traffic and pedestrian measures will be implemented onsite. A sign will be erected on site to inform about the period of works.

We appreciate that these works may present an inconvenience and ask for your patience during this time. Our community, local residents, businesses and other stakeholders will be kept up-to-date with the project via website updates.
