Biolinks

Biolinks are wildlife corridors that connect pockets of native vegetation. They allow animals to move between these areas and increase the genetic diversity in breeding populations.

Only 14 per cent of Bass Coast's native vegetation remains. Community members and landholders have identified 200 Biolinks across Bass Coast.

The Plan above outlines where wildlife corridors could be placed in the landscape. It will also help plan funding applications from State and Federal Governments for revegetation works.

Protection of the environment is pivotal to maintaining our tourism economy. Over three million tourists a year visit Bass Coast for our unique and diverse flora and fauna, and the protection of these natural attractions is crucial in maintaining this charm.
