Tourism is one of the main economic drivers of Bass Coast. In fact, Bass Coast is the second most dependent shire on tourism in Australia, after Uluru.
Over a third of the population is employed by the tourism industry, which attracts over 1.85 million visitors annually. Visitor numbers are projected to grow by 4.2 per cent per year to reach over 4 million visitors by 2035.
