Town Take-Away
In preparation for the busy Summer season, the Shire is working on activating public spaces with seating in your area to cater for our visitors and locals.
As part of these activations we will be initiating a QR code “program” and advertising this code on signage and our social media platforms.
We are calling this Town Take-Away!
A QR code will be available for our visitors to access take away food options within the area that they are visiting.
There will be an individual QR code for each of the following locations with the option to add more if the demand is heard:
- Cowes
- Inverloch
- San Remo
- Wonthaggi
We will be running this program from December 21st 2020 through until the end of the Easter 2021 school holidays.
It may continue past then; we are excited to see how this comes together.
How will this work?
When a customer scans the QR code in the town they're in, they will then access a town landing page. The landing page will include the logo of all participating businesses.
The logo for each business will have a built-in link that redirects the customer to the individual business webpage for online ordering or to a PDF menu with instructions on how to place orders. See the mock-up below:

You will need to include your business logo and your online ordering web address or upload a document with your take-away menu.
Yes of course, simply get in touch at any time and we can remove your business from the platform within 24 hours.
That’s OK! We can provide you with some contacts to get this set up. Alternatively, if this isn’t on the radar for your business we can simply link your logo to a PDF document to include your menu and key information.
We would prefer .PNG files, Your logo will preferably be no smaller than 400px (pixels) and in PNG format or a scalable format i.e. EPS/SVG
If you have a logo with a transparent background or one that has 2 versions i.e. light & dark backgrounds that would be helpful!
Your menu offering! Think simply, you may not need to include all items, you may have some super simple specials that you would like to offer as takeaway, meal deals, etc.
You could think about having weekly specials, Tight Tuesday, Family Feast Friday, Super Saturdays etc.
Include your contact details, perhaps a ‘How To Order’. Include your hours of operation.
Not at all, we’d encourage you to think simple and easy options for takeaway.
Sure, this is a business decision. If you include this, please have this information on your website or menu document.
No alcohol sales via this program please.
This is a zero cost program. We are excited to see how this could benefit our wonderful traders and we’d love you to join in.
