The four Waterline Luminous Galleries, which innovatively motivate community involvement and connection, are clusters of small permanent lights with inbuilt features for attracting three dimensional artworks. These lights also contain the locations of the waterline townships which “link” the towns to each other. The lights are programmed to turn on and off each evening.
The galleries are located in Coronet Bay, Corinella, Grantville and Pioneer Bay. Like “stars in the ground” these unobtrusive galleries become like a canvas onto which temporary art can be constructed. Installations are also enjoyed during the day with the subtler impact of natural light.
The wonderful outdoor galleries which light up each night are an artistic and unique asset to this area. Over the last three years several light festivals/events, along with the installation of these lights in their four towns have been a major source of artistic and community endeavour in the area.
