The Infinite Birdcage is my latest series of paintings exploring the human need and right to freedom. I began developing this theme about freedom for a series of paintings in 2015. However, the more I worked with that theme the more it dawned on me how little I know about freedom. It also occurred to me that perhaps one had to experience a lack of freedom to truly understand its implications.
