Youth Advisory Council

The Youth Advisory Council (YAC for short) is a newly established advisory group of young people who are connected to Bass Coast and are passionate about making a difference in the local community. The YAC acts as a channel through which young people can formally communicate with Council in a way that is meaningful and recognises the value of their voices and lived experiences. The YAC will play a key role in driving the YES Youth Hub. The YAC had a successful and fun year in 2021 which included planning Youth Week events, consulting with Council, designing the outside space at the YES Youth Hub, undertaking advocacy training and meeting the Councillors.

The 2022 YAC meet monthly and have several plans and projects underway.

Applications for vacancies on the 2023 Youth Advisory Council will open in early 2023.
