Bass Coast Young Leaders Workshop

Each year schools in Bass Coast select two students from both Year 6 and Year 11 to participate in the Bass Coast Young Leaders Workshop.

In 2022 Bass Coast Shire Council brought together young people to participate in the Bass Coast Young Leaders Workshop. Young people spent time unpacking what Leadership meant to them and learning about advocacy. The group then worked in small groups to identify and pitch different ways that Council could engage with young people about issues that are important to them.

Information from the workshop has informed the development of Youth Engagement Guidelines which will enable young people to have a regular and meaningful influence over community projects and programs that affect them.
