Fees & Charges

Local Laws General Permits

This permit covers activities including raffles, or collecting money, gifts or subscriptions. Please note, the fee depends on whether the applicant is a local charity, registered or non-registered organisation.

  • Busking permit - $105.50
  • Motor bike and recreational vehicle annual permit - $108.40
  • Camping on private land annual permit - $225.00
  • Footpath trading permits - $102.30 application fee, with additional fees of:
    • A-frame - $116.60
    • Displaying goods for sale - $143.20 per m2
    • Outdoor dining facilities - $116.60 per m2
    • Please note, current members of Bass Coast business or tourism associations receive a 25% discount on permit fees (capped at $500.00)

Other Fees and Charges

  • Abandoned vehicle release fee - $324.00 (plus any additional costs that may be incurred, such as storage fees)
  • Shipping Container permit - $57.80
  • Impound release fees (such as signs or other items that do not require towing) - $130.00

Animals

  • Pound release fees - $53.00 for a cat; $108.40 for a dog; $54.70 for stock (such as sheep, cattle, goats and pigs)
  • Domestic Animal Businesses annual registration fee - $280.00
  • Excess animal permits annual fee - $54.70

Environmental Health Permits

Registrations for premises under the Public Health & Wellbeing Act 2008

  • Hairdressers, beauty salons, skin penetration premises (tattooists) annual registration fee - $244.00
  • Prescribed accommodation annual registration fees range from $302.00 for 6-15 client capacity, up to $570.00 for 50+ client capacity
  • Holiday House registration fees range from $76.00 for short term use, to $151.00 for 6-15 client capacity and $183.00 for 16-25 client capacity

Registration for premises under the Food Act 1984

  • Temporary food vendors (depending on class) range from $33.00 to $163.00
  • Food Premises (depending on class) range from $313.00 to $550.00
