Koorie Kids Shine
Koorie Kids Shine is a program that promotes the value of kindergarten to Aboriginal parents and community. Aboriginal children aged three and four are eligible for 15 hours of free kindergarten each week. To be eligible, a child must turn three or four years old by 30 April in the year they go to kindergarten. Support is available for funded kindergartens to plan and implement a program that is responsive to the individual abilities, interests and needs of children with a disability, developmental delay or complex medical needs.
Koorie Preschool Assistance Officer
Susan Simpson is the Koorie Preschool Assistance for Bass Coast Shire, South Gippsland Shire and Baw Baw Shire.
Susan can assist with registrations, aboriginality, free birth certificates, supporting in care team meetings to talk about what sort of education your child is receiving at kinder. Susan will follow your child all the way through kinder to the first day of term 1 at School.
