Mayor's Message - 7 April

Things are constantly changing right now – there are messages and restrictions and closures coming from every direction - it’s hard to keep up sometimes.
At Council, we have made some difficult decisions, from putting some of our services on hold, to closing public playgrounds, toilets and beaches until further notice.
To keep up to date with our service changes and temporary closures, please keep an eye on Council’s Facebook page(facebook.com/BassCoastShire), or visit www.basscoast.vic.gov.au/covid19.
If you have questions about what the latest stage of movement restrictions mean for you, the Department of Health and Human Services is the best place to get answers. You can call them on the dedicated Coronavirus hotline, on 1800 675 398, or visit www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus.
It can be hard to keep positive in times like these, but it is important to make sure we look after ourselves, both mentally and physically.
Consider signing up to the Premier’s Active April – Council is promoting ‘Bass Coast 15 ways in 30 days’ for Active April, with a home-based exercise twist. It is being promoted on both our Facebookand Instagram (@basscoastshire) pages. Check it out, you might just find your new favourite hobby.
