Join the Bass Coast Community Panel
Bass Coast Shire Council is calling for Expressions of Interest from community members to form a Community Panel as the next step in the ‘Our Bass Coast. Our Future’ project. This Panel will be made up of around 40 people and participate in a series of workshops and a deliberative engagement process to help form a 20-year Vision for Bass Coast and contribute to the development of the Council Plan 2021-25.
Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Brett Tessari encouraged everyone to express their interest.
“We’re looking for a diverse range of people from different age groups, backgrounds and interests to make up our Community Panel to represent all areas of Bass Coast,” Cr Tessari said.
“We’re really pleased with the sheer volume of feedback from the community during the initial consultation held over the last few months, with over 700 surveys completed and over 200 people attending our drop-in sessions. Now is the time to get involved in the next stage of guiding the future of Bass Coast.”
The Community Panel will meet for five workshops, both online and in person that will be supported by an external community engagement consultant, Council Officers and experts to help better understand challenges and opportunities.
“If you’re passionate about our area and would like to be involved in shaping the future of Bass Coast then this is your chance,” Cr Tessari said.
“I’m really excited to see this Panel form and to hear the outcomes.”
Expressions of Interest are open to anyone aged over 16 who lives or owns property or a business in Bass Coast. Panel members will need to be available for all of the workshops and will be reimbursed $200 for their time.
