Grants awarded to help community groups
Bass Coast Shire Council has allocated $144,100 to support 45 projects, in Round two of the 2021 Community Grants Program.
This Round saw grants awarded for a huge range of projects, events and equipment, that will all make a positive impact on the community.
In this Round, the Cape Paterson Residents and Ratepayers will receive major project funding of $8,332 to hold a one-day festival at Cape Paterson. This event will be run in conjunction with local businesses and the two local lifesaving clubs and will be a free event.
The Inverloch Bowling Club will also receive a major project funding of $10,000, under the Climate Action category, to expand its solar panel capacity.
Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Brett Tessari said that while COVID-19 restrictions are still preventing Council from holding presentation ceremonies, it is still really important to acknowledge and thank the people who volunteer their time to groups and committees, who make so many events and programs in Bass Coast possible.
“We are proud to have this grants program to support our local community groups,” Cr Tessari said.
“With the funding they receive, these groups are able to provide programs and events, purchase new equipment, or make improvements to their facilities, all to benefit Bass Coast residents and visitors.”
Applications for Round One of the 2022 Community Grants are now open and will close on Friday, 4 March.
