Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Brett Tessari said that COVID-19 could also impact on this year’s flu season.
“It's more important than ever for everyone in the community to play their part in helping stop the spread of these viruses,” Cr Tessari said.
“It's as easy as following three steps: cough or sneeze into your elbow, wash your hands regularly and if you're sick, avoid going to work or school, visiting vulnerable people or busy public places.”
The flu is a highly contagious viral infection that can cause severe illness and life-threatening complications, including pneumonia. The flu doesn't discriminate and anyone can be affected.
