Feedback wanted on Kilcunda Skate and Play Plan
Bass Coast Shire Council would like feedback from the community on the Draft Kilcunda Skate and Play Plan.
Working in collaboration with the Kilcunda Community Development Association and local residents, the design delivers on projects identified in Council’s Skate Strategy, Active Bass Coast and the Bass Coast Playspace Strategy. The project involves the relocation and replacement of the existing playground and the development of a new local level skate facility.
The proposed skate facility has been designed to provide a fun space that caters for beginners and younger children, while also including elements to challenge more advanced skaters. The new playground will feature a large slide, sensory play which will include a dry creek, a spinner and swings. These facilities are designed to connect to the Bass Coast Rail Trail and nearby public amenities.
Council is keen to hear from the community on the Plan and is now seeking feedback. The consultation period runs until Sunday, 12 September.
To view the Plan, visit Council’s website at www.basscoast.vic.gov.au/kilcundaskate.
Submissions can be made in writing to Ella Angarane, Recreation and Open Space Planner via email recreation@basscoast.vic.gov.au or in the post to PO Box 118, Wonthaggi 3995.
The community will also have an opportunity to view the plans and provide feedback at a drop-in information session on Saturday, 21 August from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the Kilcunda Foreshore Car Park. This session is subject to change in the event of further health restrictions.
