International Women’s Day is not only a day of celebration, but an opportunity to start conversations and encourage action on gender equality. It is also about empowering girls and women.

To celebrate International Women’s Day and to launch This Girl Can Week, Bass Coast Shire Council, in partnership with GippSport, is hosting a free Active Women’s Breakfast on Monday, 23 March.

The breakfast will be held at the new Bass Coast Community Stadium, located at the Wonthaggi Secondary College.

To start the day off right and get hearts pumping, the event will begin at 7.00am with 30 minutes of physical activity. There are a number of different activities to choose from, including football, basketball, soccer, netball, Pilates, walking, a short walk or run, boxercise and Judo. Places in each sport are limited, so jump online now and secure a place at www.trybooking.com/BIUCE.

Following the fun activities, will be a delicious breakfast, a guest speaker and the official launch of the calendar of events for This Girl Can Week.

Some of the exciting activities planned for the Week include free come and try sessions with local sporting clubs and groups.
