Bus loop gets once over

Bus loop gets once over

The bus loop in front of St Joseph's Primary School in Wonthaggi will be renewed this January.

The work is expected to take up to six weeks to complete. The $160,000 project is part of Bass Coast Shire Council's 2018/19 Capital Works Program and has been fully funded by Council.

The work will include excavation of existing pavement and replacing this with new compacted rock, replacement of 100 metres of kerb and footpath to the front of the school, minor drainage works and asphalt sealing works.

There will be changes in traffic movements during the works, including the temporary closure of the bus loop in the early stages of the project.

Most of the work is anticipated to be carried out during the school holiday period to minimise disruption to school buses/parents and road users. Council and the contractor will be working alongside the school to minimise disruptions during construction once school begins in early February 2019. Please obey all traffic control measures onsite and seek alternate parking/drop off areas where appropriate.
