An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced waste management professional to join our Sustainable Environment Department in the role of Co-ordinator Waste Services.

Reporting to the Manager Sustainable Environment, this position will play an integral role in delivering Councils waste services and the objectives of Council’s Waste Management Strategy 2015-25.

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Significant experience in operations and management in the waste sector
  • South technical knowledge and understanding of the waste sector
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience managing small teams
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities

This role is responsible for the leadership and coordination of the Waste Services team to deliver Councils waste services and the objectives of Council’s Waste Management Strategy 2015-25.

The role will coordinate waste services contracts, kerbside municipal waste collection, resource recovery centres, provision of materials recycling, organics collection and processing, landfill planning, operations, aftercare and services, public litter bins, hard waste collection, litter prevention and waste education functions.
