Work on the Structure Plan for Cowes, Silverleaves, Ventnor and Wimbledon Heights commenced in October 2007.

Council is undertaking the preparation of this Structure Plan, in combination with the implementation of some zoning changes and policies and strategies into the Bass Coast Planning Scheme, as part of the process.

Coomes Consulting Group Pty Ltd has been appointed to prepare this Structure Plan for Council.

Preliminary consultation sessions with stakeholders and community groups were held in October 2007.

Additional consultation sessions were held in January 2008, with a consultation session being held in Cowes, and one in Melbourne.

The consultation sessions in January provided the community with some concept plans, with the purpose of asking the community what you would like to see for the future of this area.

The feedback received from the preliminary consultation sessions will be valuable in the preparation of the draft Structure Plan.

It is expected that a draft Structure Plan will be available for public comment in August/September 2008.

It is important for the community to be involved in this project as this will set the future for the towns and may affect where you live.  We urge the community and interested persons to become a part of this process.
