Welcome to Bass Coast Shire's new website. Our aim is to help you find the information you need in an efficient and user-friendly manner. We welcome your comments to assist us in making the site even better. Please send us comments using the 'Your Shire, Your Say' feedback form.
Getting around the website
The basic design lets you choose from the topics on the left of the screen. These topics guide you through the site. If you click on a topic, the categories will be displayed. At the top of each story, a 'breadcrumb trail' shows you where you are in the structure.
Click on 'Home' in the left-hand column, or on the Bass Coast Shire logo, to get back to the home page.
The tabs along the top of all pages contain information specific to Residents, Business and Visitors.
Events
View the Events Calendar to see what is happening in the Shire. Activities include art exhibitions, markets, festivals, sporting activties and dances.
Search
From the home page, enter key words into the Search box to help you find information quickly. The search results will list all of the pages that contain your key words. Click on the chosen page title to view the page.
Contact Us
Use our 'Your Shire, Your Say' form to send us a message or request information via e-mail. For other means of contact, refer to the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of this page.
Downloads
To make for more accessible viewing, many documents and forms are presented to you in standard PDF format. To view these documents you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader loaded on your computer. Acrobat Reader is free of charge, available from Adobe's website. A link to the download is on all pages which require it.

External links
We have added some useful external links which will take you directly to other web sites. These sites will be listed under "External Links" on relevant story pages. These links will open in a new browser window. Bass Coast Shire Council endeavours to maintain the linkages but cannot accept responsibility for external links content or accessibility. See 'Disclaimer' at the bottom of this page for further detail.
Accessibility
The main driver for redesigning the Bass Coast Shire web site is to embrace a design that adheres to guidelines outlined by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative. This means that our web site will be more easily accessed by people with disabilities or with limited Internet resources. This website now meets W3C accessibility guidelines.
