Tourist Information

Bass Coast is one of Victoria's most popular tourist destinations with over 180 kilometres of spectacular coastline, beautiful wilderness areas, scenic hinterland and a laid back life style. This region boasts isolated beaches, lush farmlands, nature parks, historical landmarks and much more making it one of Australia's most diverse and unique areas.

A great range of accommodation is available from bushland camping sites to 5 star luxury hotels - something to suit all tastes and budgets. The area also has a wide range of services available to visitors, from gourmet restaurants to charter fishing tours. Bass Coast Shire boasts beautiful walking and cycling tracks, including Victoria's only coastal rail trail. Boat ramps and facilities are located at Grantville, Corinella, Newhaven, Rhyll, Cowes and Inverloch. We also have a range of access resources to help visitors with a disability to plan their trip in advance.

Visitor Information Centres in Newhaven, Cowes, Wonthaggi and Inverloch provide information about what to see, what to do and where to stay in Bass Coast and across South Gippsland.

Please also check our events calendar for what's currently happening within the Shire.
