Tides of Change

The Tides of Change Public Art Project is being delivered as part of Council's annual Public Art Program.

The project has been developed in partnership with the San Remo Foreshore Committee of Management and the Tides of Change Community Group in San Remo. In 2015 the Tides of Change Community Group undertook community consultation specific to public art on the San Remo Foreshore. The results of that consultation were included in the Expression of Interest document sent to artists.

Work to Date

In December 2016 artists were invited to submit Concept Designs for a creative and contemporary public artwork to be situated on the San Remo Foreshore.

In March 2017 a preferred Concept Design was selected by a panel made up of local community members, Phillip Island and San Remo Rotary, Tides of Change art group, San Remo Foreshore Community of Management, San Remo District Tourism & Business Inc., Council and Regional Arts Victoria.

The selected artist, Paul Jesse, is currently developing a more detailed design based on his initial concept.
