Bass Coast Shire Council Art Acquisition Program offers an award to artists selected from local exhibitions held throughout the year. The award offers the opportunity to exhibit in the Bass Coast Art Acquisition Exhibition in September each year. To receive the award you must be selected from a registered community art show by one of our judges.

At the Art Acquisition Exhibition one painting is selected by independent judges to become part of the Bass Coast Shire Council art collection. The acquisitive prize is worth $5,000 and all other artists invited to exhibit receive prize money.

In 2011 the registered exhibitions held throughout the year were:

• Artist Society of Phillip Island, Melbourne Cup weekend Exhibition, Cowes 2011
• Inverloch Art Show, Labour Day weekend, Inverloch 2012
• Bass Coast Artist Society Easter Exhibition, Wonthaggi 2012
• Corinella and District Community Centre Traditional Art Show, Queens Birthday weekend, Corinella 2012
• San Remo Art and Photographic Show, Labour Day weekend, San Remo 2013
