Bass Coast is home to a thriving arts community. The beauty of its natural environment, and the close proximity to Melbourne, attracts the creative spirit.

What are Council's plans for arts and culture in the area?

The Arts and Culture Plan 2015-2019 (PDF 415kb) builds on the achievements of the previous Plan which ran from 2007-2013. It sets out actions that encouraged our community to nurture, value and support arts and cultural activities as an intrinsic part of our lives and our environment.

We are now developing a new 10 year Arts and Culture Strategy for Bass Coast, that will enhance residents and visitors enjoyment of arts and culture events and activities. Council wants Bass Coast to be a great place to live, work and play and so we're asking people their opinion about arts and events in the Shire.

Free Arts News

You can register to receive regular Arts e-newsletters. To help us inform artists and the audience of arts activities in the region, we have a register for artists and those interested in the local arts. Whatever your field, be it dance, music, theatre arts, visual arts and/or word, this will give you the opportunity to share news and puts you on our artist and arts group database.
