Bass Coast Shire is home to beautiful beaches, world class events, amazing natural attractions and great food and wine. Be it a quiet winter get away or an action packed weekend there is something for everyone in Bass Coast.

Recognised around the world for the Penguin Parade and the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, we invite you to visit and experience for yourself the many other activities, natural attractions and events that are available for you to enjoy.  Bass Coast is accessible to both day trippers and those planning on staying longer. Just 90 minutes' drive from Melbourne along the Monash Freeway and South Gippsland Highway and you're here.

Our beautiful coastline alternates between rugged cliffs and endless beaches. Along the seafront are fishing villages and holiday towns which bustle during warmer months and exude an away-from-it-all ambience at other times. If you go further inland you'll find quaint towns, small wineries and local producers proud of their products and more than happy to show you around.  You can experience all this on long summer days - ideal for enjoying a lazy day at the beach, or rugged winters - perfect for indoor indulgence - all within an easy drive from Melbourne.

Visit the Bass Coast Visitor Website for local knowledge and accurate, comprehensive information to help you before and during your visit. The site can assist you with details on local attractions, making  accommodation bookings or our local markets.
