Waste Management

Council manages the Shire’s Kerbside Bin Collection service for nearly 24,000 properties and oversees the operation of four waste disposal facilities and our at-call hard waste collection service.

Key information for residents, visitors and business operators includes the 2015-16 Bin Collection Calendar (PDF 307kb), the location and operating hours of Council’s waste disposal facilities and waste disposal fees and load limits for each site. All recyclable packaging plus lots of common items like whitegoods, appliances, electronic items and paint can be dropped off for free. Recycle 100% to save.

Council also delivers waste management projects and waste education to help increase recycling, reduce litter and reduce waste to landfill, because reducing waste to landfill helps achieve immediate and ongoing economic and environmental benefits for Bass Coast Shire ratepayers and the wider community.
