Wonthaggi Centennial Centre MOU

A Memorandum of Understanding with the Arts Business Information Alliance (PDF 2.5MB) establishes the roles and responsibilities for use of the Wonthaggi Centennial Centre.

Expressions of Interest - Cowes Jetty Shed

We are asking for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from individuals, companies and associations who have a “pop up” proposal to activate the space occupied by the Jetty Shed and the adjacent land at Cowes over the 2018-19 summer period.

It is anticipated that Council will accept a suitable proposal that will operate from mid-December to the end of April 2019. The proposed use will be considered as a trial but may be extended for a further term or two.

The EOI opens at 9.00am on Tuesday, 13 November and will close at 2.00pm on Friday, 23 November 2018. The site can be inspected at 3.00 pm on 16 November 2018. If you have any questions or for more information please contact Council's Senior Property Officer, David Graffen on (03) 5671 2707.

Proposed re-naming of southern section of Carneys Road, Wonthaggi

Council is proposing to change the name of the southern section of Carneys Road in Wonthaggi to Davidson Road. The section of road is shown in the image below.

The re-naming of part of the road is required as the northern and southern sections of Carneys Road are not connected. This could cause delays for emergency services when attempting to locate properties on this road.

Davidson Road has been suggested to commemorate Ruby May Davidson who lived and owned the farm “Mayfield” in Carneys Road. Further information regarding this proposal is available by contacting Council’s Property Team on 1300 BCOAST (226 278) or 03 5671 2211.

Any person wishing to make a submission should do so in accordance with 'Naming rules for places in Victoria – Statutory Requirements for naming roads, features and localities – 2016' which can be found online at www.propertyandlandtitles.vic.gov.au.

Submissions will be considered by a Committee of Council. Submissions close on 17 December 2018. Submissions received may be made available to the public.
