Building Permits
Places of Public Entertainment (P.O.P.E.)
If you are proposing to stage a public entertainment event or meeting in an enclosed (or substantially enclosed) area, or where an admission fee is required, you will need to obtain an Occupancy Permit for Places of Public Entertainment (P.O.P.E. for short).
A Siting Permit for temporary structures to be erected may also be required. The P.O.P.E. Fact Sheet (PDF 108kb) provides more detail on what will be required for you to stage such an event.
Forms you may need:
- P.O.P.E. Application form (PDF 153kb)
- P.O.P.E. Siting Application form (PDF 148kb)
- Procedures for Places of Public Entertainment (PDF 147kb)
All permits must be obtained prior to occupying the event. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in penalties and fines being issued including the cancellation of the event.
