Strategic Planning
This area of Planning oversees the management of the Bass Coast Planning Scheme, including the development of local planning policies that consider issues such as growth, sustainability, the environment, and neighbourhood character. Strategic Planning is also responsible for responding to, and incorporating into the Bass Coast Planning Scheme, changes to the State Planning Policy.
The Strategic Planning role also prepares plans that guide and manage the future growth of our settlements. This part of strategic planning incorporates a research and data collection function along with the facilitation of the whole of Council input into the decision-making processes to ensure that social, economic and environmental issues are addressed and resolved.
At the Ordinary Council meeting on 15 February Council adopted Amendment C105 and Council approved a Development Plan for the C103 area.

Adopted in October 2008, the Wonthaggi & Dalyston Structure Plan makes development recommendations to meet the functional expectations of the towns
The revised Inverloch Design Framework was adopted by Council in May 2011. It outlines the preferred boundaries for the future development spread of Inverloch.
