Planning Permits

Objecting to a Planning Permit

If you object to a  planning permit application, you must do so in writing.

You will need to complete an objection to grant a planning permit form (PDF 67kb) and return it to Council's Planning Department for consideration.

Submissions of all types are considered - positive and negative, including hand written submissions, faxes and emails, but you must send them in to Council to ensure your position is recorded and considered.

These guidelines for submitters/objectors and applicants (PDF 109kb) provide a brief description on how to object, how to meet the requirements of the Planning and Environment Act 1987, and the applicant's entitlement to respond.  A more detailed explanation can be found in the Act itself at www.legislation.vic.gov.au (available in both PDF and Word formats)

Please be aware that if you lodge a submission it is a public document and can be viewed by interested members of the public, including the applicant. Submissions can be received up until a decision is made on the proposed application.
