Pet Registration
Restricted Dog Breeds
In August 2011 the Victorian Government introduced legislation to crack down on dangerous and restricted dogs, including American Pitbulls. This legislation ended the amnesty to register restricted breeds on 29 September 2011. Any dog identified as a restricted breed and not registered after that time can be seized and destroyed.

Dogs and cats three months and older must be microchipped and registered with Council. Registering your pets ensures that if they get lost they can be identified and returned. Please contact your local vet to arrange microchipping.
Please complete the Application for Pet Registration Form (PDF 272kb) and either take it to a Customer Service Centre or post it to Council with your payment and proof of microchipping and payment. Once payment and proof of microchipping are received, a registration tag will be issued. If you do not register your pet, you risk receiving a $239 fine.
Registration renewals for the period 10 April, 2012 to 9 April, 2013 have been mailed - if you do not receive your renewal please contact Council's Community Safety team on 1300 BCOAST (226 278) to arrange a copy
