Jet Ski Regulations & Safety

Waterways are heavily used during the summer months across Bass Coast. With so many swimmers, surfers, jet skis and boats in the water, it is very important that people behave responsibly and be considerate of each other.

Jet skis are subject to the same regulations as a powerboat; they must stay under 5 knots (walking pace), when they are within 50 metres of swimmers and 200 metres of the water's edge.

If you believe that someone is breaking this regulation and would like to report an offender please contact the Police by calling 000.

Additionally all vessels including jet skis using Council managed boat ramps must pay a fee.
