Waste Road Works Begin

Bass Coast Shire Council is completing road works on the road into the Wonthaggi Transfer station in Cameron Street, Wonthaggi.
Council’s Acting Infrastructure Director, Felicity Sist, said Council needs to make sure the road can still be used safely.
“These works are long overdue and are important in preventing expensive works in the future,” Ms Sist said.
“Renewal works are done when a road has reached the end of its lifespan. Spending money on renewing a road will save maintenance costs in the future.
“Works are scheduled to start on Thursday, 12 May and, weather permitting, we expect to have the works finished early the following week,” Ms Sist said.
“We are trying to keep disruption to users of the transfer station to a minimum.
“People using the transfer station should expect delays.
“I’d like to remind drivers to follow all instructions from roadworks staff during the course of the works.”
