Budget 2010/11
On 28 July 2010, Council adopted the Annual Budget for 2010/11 (PDF 849kb).
The budget includes an overall increase in rates and the garbage charge revenue of 6.5%. Highlights of the budget include a $17.76 million capital expenditure program as well as almost $700,000 in new initiatives.
Some of the key projects in the 2010/11 budget include:
- The construction of the Wonthaggi Centennial Centre valued at $1.554 million.
- The construction of the Inverloch Surf Life saving Club clubrooms valued at $1.36 million.
- Construction of pathways on the Phillip Island Tourist road valued at $400,000.
- Road widening and culvert improvement works on the Glen Alvie road valued at $698,000.
- Rehabilitation of the Rhyll transfer station site valued at $200,000.
In 2010/11, Council will spend nearly $11 million on environmental services, almost $7 million on leisure and recreation and over $6 million on community services.
