Provision of Resources to Councillors Policy
The Local Government Act 1989 requires Council to adopt and maintain a policy in relation to the reimbursement of expenses for Councillors.
The Provision of Resources to Councillors Policy (PDF 88kb) is reviewed and adopted by Council each year at the statutory meeting of Council.
The objectives of the Policy are to:
- provide Councillors with the resources required to carry out their duties as representatives of their communities, and communicate with each other, Council staff and the Bass Coast community;
- provides guidance on the resources, equipment and support to Councillors;
- clearly set out the level of professional support that staff will provide Councillors; and
- provide clear audit guidelines through the maintenance of the Councillors Expense Register, Travel Register and travel claim forms.
