Sport & Active Recreation Needs Assessment (SARNA) - Closed

The Draft Bass Coast Sport and Active Recreation Needs Assessment (SARNA) is now complete and you can now download Project Bulletin 3 (PDF 237kb) which summarises the project findings.

The Draft was on display from 20 November 2015 to 8 January 2016 and Council received 14 submissions from Club and community members. Based on the feedback received, a final draft is being developed and is scheduled to be presented at the March Council meeting.

Council undertook SARNA to map the current state of play in the Shire and asked all sporting and recreation clubs and individuals to tell us about how they participate and their needs.  This community and stakeholder consultation has helped to ensure future recommendations are reflective of the Bass Coast community's needs now and in years to come.

The project has provided a clear picture of participation, facilities and locations in order to identify future needs and demands for our community, with key findings broken into three areas; Sport, Active Recreation and Facilities.  The draft report breaks actions into sports specific areas and recommendations, making it easy for local clubs to follow.
