Sport & Active Recreation Needs Assessment (SARNA)

The Bass Coast Sport and Active Recreation Needs Assessment (SARNA) maps the current state of play in the Shire and asked all sporting and recreation clubs and individuals to tell us about their needs and how they participate. Both parts of the final report are available to download below:

The project has provided a clear picture of participation, facilities and locations in order to identify future needs and demands for our community, with key findings broken into three areas; Sport, Active Recreation and Facilities. The report breaks actions into sports specific areas and recommendations, making it easy for local clubs to follow.

This community and stakeholder consultation has helped to ensure future recommendations are reflective of the Bass Coast community's needs now and in years to come.

The Draft was on display from 20 November 2015 to 8 January 2016 and Council received 14 submissions from Club and community members. Based on the feedback received, a final draft was developed, then presented and adopted at the April 2016 Council meeting.
