Volunteer Driving Mentors

Driving Mentors needed now!

Do you enjoy driving?
Do you like working with younger people?
Are you an experienced driver willing to share your skills?
Would you like to help save lives, reduce road crashes and road trauma?
Are you interested in being part of a well regarded community safety program? If you answered yes to the above then we need you to join our L2P Program!

The L2P program helps young disadvantaged learner drivers to reach the required 120 hours of practice driving prior to going for their licence.

Do I need any special qualifications to become a mentor/driver?

  • You must hold a full, current Victorian drivers licence
  • You will be required to undertake 3 training sessions
  • Minimum 10 years driving experience is preferred (but not essential)
  • Willingness to work with young people
  • Be prepared to undertake a Police Check, Licence Check and Working with Children check (all costs covered by program)

What commitment is required of me?

Once matched with a learner driver you will be required to supervise them on weekly driving sessions of usually 45-60 minutes duration. A vehicle is provided by the program and will need to be collected prior to the lesson from a pre-determined site. At completion of the session you should ensure that the driver's log book is completed correctly.
