Events in Bass Coast

We provide support for many events throughout the year. Most events are held in the peak tourist season to take advantage of the significant number of visitors to the region. Council's Events Policy sets the framework for events in Bass Coast.

The Bass Coast Shire Council Economic Development Strategy 2016-2021 (1.8MB) supports the promotion of Bass Coast as an all round tourist and events destination.

Before organising your event you need to establish whether you need an Event Permit. For assistance in planning and running your event contact Council's Events Team on 1300 BCOAST (226 278), 03 5671 2211 or events@basscoast.vic.gov.au

Council's Calendar of Events is a great way to promote your event. Complete the required form at Register your Event.

Growing Off Peak Events

Council recently engaged Tilma Group to develop a report Growing Off Peak Events 2018 (PDF 1,2mb). This report identifies a pathway to increase the region’s off peak events, which in turn will support greater visitor attendance during the quieter times of the year, leading to greater economic benefit. Addressing off peak events was identified as an action in Council’s Phillip Island and San Remo Visitor Economy Strategy 2035, Growing Tourism.

For more information please contact Peter Francis, Manager Economic Development and Tourism, on 1300 BCOAST (226 278) or 03 5671 2211.
