Working for Council as a Contractor or Supplier
All new or existing contractors working in Council buildings or worksites must complete a Contractor Induction.
The induction is mandatory and helps us manage safety standards in our workplaces for all contractors and employees.
Council has a list of 'Approved Suppliers' called prequalified contractors and suppliers. Council sources contractors and suppliers from the list when placing purchase orders and when requesting quotations.
Prequalification allows Council to assess contractors and suppliers against set criteria to ensure they have the capability and capacity to carry out works on our behalf, and the ability to manage Occupational Health & Safety requirements.
There is no fee involved in applying for prequalification and we have kept the paperwork as simple as possible. To apply for prequalification with Council please download the Application for Registration (DOC 1.1MB) and the minimum requirements checklist for Trades/Contractors (DOC 68kb) or Consultants/Services (DOC 38kb).
Please return the completed form, and the checklist to Council by any of the methods listed on the cover page of the registration form. To avoid delays in processing your application you must return the checklist and registration form along with all other documentation as requested in the form.
Please note that prequalification registration itself does not guarantee an invitation to quote or an engagement for services. Also Council has annual supply contracts in place for certain trades and services. The Contractors and Suppliers under contracts are given preference over prequalified contractors and suppliers when ordering works.
Please ensure you have read and understand the conditions of prequalification prior to submitting your application for registration.
If you would like to discuss prequalification or require assistance completing the registration form please contact the Procurement Department on 1300 BCOAST (226 278).
