There are several 'all day' parking areas in the main business districts of Wonthaggi (PDF 45kb) and Cowes (PDF 50kb).

The pressure on parking in major shopping precincts is an increasing issue in the Shire, particularly during peak summer season. We need to ensure consistent parking turnover is achieved so that shoppers and visitors have access to these busy areas.  Local laws are in place to assist in an easy flow of traffic in these areas. 

Parking restrictions allow community members to park in a particular area for a specified period of time. Council officers sometimes allow some grace past the time specified prior to issuing an infringement notice.  Next time you park your vehicle make sure you know what restrictions apply and return to your vehicle within the period allowed in order to avoid receiving a parking infringement notice.
